Organized by the Chavara Cultural Centre, Delhi, under the leadership of Fr. Dr. Roby Kannanchira CMI, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda, the evening celebrated cultural exchange, interreligious harmony, and the shared values of peace and friendship. The event was graced by an esteemed gathering of dignitaries and diplomats, including H.E. Ms. Jaqueline Mukangira, High Commissioner of Rwanda to India; H.E. Mr. Reuben Gauci, High Commissioner of Malta; Mr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Asian Academy of Film & Television; as well as representatives from over 30 Embassies, such as the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Panama, Seychelles, Peru, Cyprus, China, Somalia, Honduras, Zimbabwe, and others. More than 10 inter-religious leaders representing diverse faith traditions led a moving prayer for peace, reflecting India’s spirit of unity in diversity. A highlight of the evening was the mesmerizing cultural performances. The Rwandan cultural troupe captivated the audience with their dynamic folk dances, while the artists from the Ministry of Culture and the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, presented vibrant Indian classical fusion, Kathak, folk, and tribal performances. Each segment received enthusiastic applause and created a powerful atmosphere of goodwill and connection. School students and educators from Mount Abu School, Sarvottam International School, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Mahaveer Senior Model School, Bal Bharti School, and Marwah Studio also participated, adding youthful energy to the celebration. Fr. Roby Kannanchira expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, performers, and supporters. He remarked that art and culture have the profound power to bring nations together and heal divisions. The evening concluded with the presentation of mementos and certificates of appreciation, and a warm fellowship dinner shared by diplomats, religious leaders, artists, and the audience. The Art for Peace event truly embodied the spirit of its theme: Art Destroys Ego and Fosters Harmony.
